Crowdfunding Success!

Thanks to the support of 34 separate and very generous individuals, we smashed our crowdfunding target of £800 on the 6th of May - a whole week before our deadline! We'd like to personally thank everyone who has donated to, shared the page of, and just talked about our crowdfunding campaign.

With this money we will be able to realise things that were previously unattainable to us. We will also be able to provide new, excellent opportunities to the young creatives who work with us and hopefully develop a new platform for funny people to develop their craft and learn about how to professionally realise their ambitions.

We really are so very thankful to you all.

If you haven't donated yet, there's still time to visit our IndieGoGo campaign and give us your support. Every donation is valuable and is guaranteed to help.

Support Us!

You can now support us by donating to our shiny new IndieGoGo campaign - everything you give goes straight towards putting on our productions so we can put on the best show possible for as many people as possible. First Tickets On Sale! - York Basement Thursday 16th April

What can you buy for £4 these days? Not an awful lot EXCEPT a ticket to the most hotly-anticipated comedy double-bill premiere of the year. That's right, tickets are now on sale for our performances of The Room: The Musical and Clandestine Sketch Show (in a saucy double-bill) and they are as cheap as chips.

Brighton and Basement

So unfortunately we have a little bad news. Owing to a tiny administrative accident, we got to our email offer of performing at Brighton Fringe a little too late and by the time we replied, our slot had been given away. Therefore, I unfortunately have to announce that The Room: The Musical will not be going to Brighton Fringe this year. Sorry for any disappointment. However, we are now completely on top of all our email accounts to try and ensure that nothing like this happens again.

In the light of that bad news, we do have some good news. We are delighted to announce our first official performance date of 2015. On Thursday 16th April, we will be performing in a double bill with Clandestine Sketch Show, Two Spoons' other 2015 show, at Basement, underneath York City Screen (http://www.thebasementyork.co.uk).

There are more details to follow about price and time but we couldn't help stop ourselves from telling you the good news! We promise to keep you posted about any updates and hopefully you'll be able to join us!

Auditions for The Room: The Musical

We are pleased to announce two audition dates for this summers production of The Room: The Musical. We will be holding an open audition between 12:00 and 16:00 on Saturday 24th January and Sunday 25th January in room D/L/036 at the University of York. If you don't know you're way around the university campus, it's in Block L, Derwent Collect (map). Just drop as an email at productions@two-spoons.co.uk before hand and we can give you a number to call on the day so we can come and find you.

It will be an open walk-in audition, so just turn up any time, pick up a script from outside and when you're ready come and give us your best worst acting. We are ideally looking for the same cast to be taking part in the Brighton Fringe, Great Yorkshire Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe festivals, however we are flexible to changing things around if necessary. Rehearsals for the production will also take place in York. If you would like to audition and are quite some distance from York, but would be able to attend rehearsals in York then please drop as an email (productions@two-spoons.co.uk) and we can make alternative arrangements.

Brighton Fringe Applications

With the first Brighton Fringe application deadline looming shortly, all our attention has turned to preparing our applications for the festival. Despite us all having many years of experience of the Edinburgh Fringe, this will be our first time bringing productions to Brighton. It's both exciting yet somewhat daunting, with a whole new city to learn, venues to discover and market to embrace. The Brighton Fringe this year will mark the start of both of our production runs this year, so obviously it's important to us that we get it right, and I'm sure we will, delivering what we hope will be received as two very enjoyable comedy shows. We will be needing some helping hands however, so keep your eyes on the website for any opportunities to help should you be interested.

Here we go!

It has started! We have formally had our first meeting as a new production company, and toasted with a glass of Scotchka in acknowledgement to one of our first projects we will be producing, The Room: The Musical. All being self-confessed followers of the cult that is Tommy Wiseau's The Room, Ed Greenwood, a Two Spoons writer and director has written a musical parody of everybody's favourite bad film which was extremely well received during its debut performance in York. Accompanying this show will be a newly devised piece of sketch comedy written by both Ed Greenwood and fellow Two Spoons writer Charles Deane. The Clandestine Sketch Show is a cutting edge comedy unlike any you have seen before. We're excited to be bringing this and The Room: The Musical to the Brighton Fringe, Great Yorkshire Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2015.

We have a lot of work ahead of us and a tight timeline to keep to, but with two promising new productions to work with we are very excited about what 2015 promises.
